UAW 2322 Bowling Party!

Tuesday, June 12th, 6-8:30 pm at Spare Time Bowling in Northampton.

This will be a party for UAW Members, Friends and Family, for a fun night out in Northampton! Spread the word to your coworkers and let us know if you will be attending (and how many guests you will bring). We need to have a count to reserve lanes so please let us know as soon as you can.

The party will consist of 2 1/2 hours of unlimited bowling, free shoe rental and light refreshments (generally chips & salsa, veggie platter, etc and pitchers of soft drinks). The Bowling Alley also has a full bar and kitchen that will be open for people to take advantage of on their own.

If you enjoy this bowling event, it won’t have to end there. Starting June 26th (new date) you can join an eight week fun league. The UAW has worked with Spare Time Bowling to bring you a great offer. 8 weeks of bowling for $8/week. For those who commit to join the league, Spare Time will give each league member a free bowling ball!

There will be more information forthcoming and at the party about how you can join. In any event come out June 12th and have some fun! Please RSVP for the party to info@uaw2322.org or 413.534.7600.

Spare Time Bowling is located at 525 Pleasant Street, Northampton, MA

UMass Workplace Bullying Survey

UMass Amherst Workplace Bullying Survey The union asks for ten minutes of your time to make a difference on the issue of workplace bullying. The Campus Coalition against Workplace Bullying has been meeting for a year and a half to plan the launch of an awareness/policy/education campaign to address workplace bullying here on campus. The first stage in that campaign is a comprehensive assessment of the issue among our members. We need to hear from you. Have you experienced bullying? Have you witnessed bullying? The survey is voluntary, confidential, and anonymous. We ask that you go to http://www.mtasurveys.org/se.ashx?s=0B87CA7D0E0B255B to complete the survey. Workplace bullying is a critical issue around the country – seriously hampering work performance and retention. We want UMass Amherst to lead the way in addressing bullying. Our focus is positive and we aim to make a difference as we identify the extent and nature of bullying. Your input will inform our understanding of bullying on campus and will help shape our efforts. WE URGE YOU TO PARTICIPATE, please complete the survey.

AY 2012-2013 Officer Elections

Following the close of nominations for GEO officers last week, we are pleased to announce that the nominees for the two GEO Co-Chair positions are current officers Derek Doughty and Jocelyn Silverlight, and that the nominee for Mobilization Coordinator is current GEO Database Coordinator Danielle Allessio.

Because there is only one eligible nominee for each position, Danielle Allessio is elected by acclamation to the position of Mobilization Coordinator.  For the Co-Chair positions, the GEO bylaws call for a process of vetting nominees by the Stewards’ Assembly later this week.
