Nomination period for elected officials, and hiring period for staff are closed

Thank you to all officer nominees and to those who applied for staff positions.

At the 21 April 2010 Assembly of Stewards, the election committee will be presenting the results of the nominations for President, Vice President and Secretary Treasurer and the personnel committee will present their recommendations of candidates to fill the staff positions.

The 2010-2011 staff and officers will be announced at the 28 April 2010 membership meeting.

Important GEO Elections Update

Nominations will remain open until 5pm Monday April 12, 2010.

Nominations should be submitted in writing in person to the GEO office, 201 Student Union or via email to elections@geouaw.org

Balloting will be held Monday, April 26 and Tuesday, April 27, from 11-2 in the Campus Center concourse.

Summer Orientations Coordinator Position Available at GEO

GEO Summer Orientations Coordinator

Every year GEO must conduct orientations for 800-1,000 incoming graduate assistants. These orientations are vital in educating new members about their union and encouraging them to become active participants. Additionally, most departments allow GEO to participate in their own orientations for incoming graduate students. The Orientations Coordinator has primary responsibility for organizing these orientations and ensuring that they are positive, efficient, and informative.
