What about waiving FERPA? Didn’t that used to be an important step for new GEO members?
As of the most recent GEO contract, grad workers no longer need to waive FERPA. The limited waiver of FERPA is now appended to your assistantship form, meaning the union will be able to receive timely and accurate information about everyone in the bargaining unit for purposes of administering the contract.
