Happy Friday! Today is the first payday of the Fall 2021 semester. Everyone working in a Fall assistantship should have received their first paycheck today. However, we have been hearing a lot from members about delays with the processing of assistantship paperwork—including some situations where members have had to start working before their contracts were even generated by their departments. Late pay is NOT OK! If you or someone you know did not get paid today, WE WANT TO KNOW! Write to us at geo.
You can find your electronic pay stub by logging into HR Direct on the UMass website: https://www.umass.edu/humres/hr-direct. As a reminder, all GEO-eligible graduate workers should be paid the GEO minimum rate of $30.33 an hour. All GEO-eligible work should be secured through a Graduate Fellowship and Assistantship Form (GFAF), which you can access on SPIRE by clicking “View Graduate Appointments.” If you have any other questions or concerns about your paycheck, please write to us as soon as possible.
