Fellow Workers,
As a labor union, we recognize that in a war between governments, the workers are the ones who suffer. In keeping with the traditions of the labor movement, we condemn the acts of war taken by the United States federal government against Iran. The workers of our union cannot stop a war with a statement of discontent, but we insist the power to do so is collectively held by the workers of the world if sufficiently organized.
Our hearts go out to all of the Iranian students and workers here at UMass. We stand with you as you live through violence at home and your own uncertain futures. We know that focusing on your studies and work during these times may be difficult, and GEO is here to provide whatever resources and community we can. You have and will always be a part of GEO. This will not change in the face of global conflict.
