Hi fellow workers,
A number of students including GEO members were arrested for peacefully protesting at Whitmore yesterday during the SJP and UMass Dissenters rally for Palestine. The rally demanded, amongst other things, that UMass divest and end its partnership with Raytheon. SJP is holding another rally today at Whitmore at 2 pm against these arrests. We are circulating this event at the request of members. We also firmly believe that students who are peacefully protesting should not be arrested for their political opinions and the university can and must do better.
All members have the right to to express their opinions on campus. If your rights are being curtailed, and are feeling threatened, harassed or intimidated, GEO will support you. Please approach us in any of these cases.
